The Toronto Sports Council is a non-profit organization that strives to assist and support the growth of sport. The TSC is recognized by Toronto City Council as the "Voice for Sport" in Toronto. The Toronto Sports Council promotes active involvement in sport and physical recreation and provides a network for sport organizations to share experiences and resources. Karen Pitre - Founding Director

Karen Pitre is the founder and President of The Lonsdale Group Inc., a strategic planning and project management firm specializing in the development and implementation of community infrastructure projects. Recent clients include the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), Metrolinx and Waterfront Toronto. Prior to establishing her consulting practice, Karen was the Executive Vice- President of the Toronto Olympic Bid for the 2008 Olympic Games, where she was responsible for building community support, developing the strategic plan and managing the Olympic Bid Master Plan.

John Wilkinson is a partner at WeirFoulds LLP, a Toronto law firm of approximately 75 lawyers. John provides corporate and commercial advice to for-profit businesses and non-profit organizations including sports organizations and charities. In addition to his involvement with the Toronto Sport Council, John is a director of FAST ("Foundation for Athletes and Sport Training") and was (as a volunteer) general legal counsel to Toronto's bid for the 2008 Olympic Games.

John brings to TSC legal expertise regarding a variety matters, extensive practical experience regarding corporate governance, fund-raising, risk management, and alternate revenue generation for non-profit organizations. As well, John has an abiding interest in the welfare of Sports in Toronto for the benefit of its population.

Bob Stellick has 25 years experience in sport at the professional and amateur level and brings expertise in sports sponsorship and event execution from the grassroots to professional levels in programs executed across Canada. Bob was an international media relations consultant to Toronto's bid for the 2008 Olympic Games and he has worked extensively with amateur sports organizations (Canadian Soccer Association, Rugby Canada, Hockey Canada and the local branches and associations and Women's Hockey in Ontario). Stellick Marketing-Communications specializes in working with large Canadian corporations (RBC Financial, Bell Canada, Labatt and McDonald's) on creating, developing and executing sports programming at all levels.

Heather Mitchell - Founding Director

Heather was an initial founder the Sport Alliance of North York. The Sport Alliance North York was initiated in order to make better use of resources, to improve sport services and to provide sport opportunities for all. This work began back in 1993 and Heather has continued to grow the concept through amalgamation and she brings a broad range of experience to the Toronto Sport Council.

Robert Kawamoto - Stakeholder Member

Director of Sales, Greater Toronto Region Meetings Conventions Sport & Incentive Travel Division - Tourism Toronto

Robert has worked in the hospitality and tourism industry for the past 24 years. His current responsibilities include the leadership and development of Sport and other convention segment sales and marketing strategies to drive economic benefits to over 1,400 Toronto, Mississauga, and Brampton stakeholders and members. Additionally, his role is to ensure that Tourism Toronto leverages opportunities that exist through municipal, provincial and federal levels of governments and sport organizations. Robert is a member of MPI (Meeting Professionals International), he is on the Board of Directors for CSTA (Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance) and serving his 4th year on the Board for the TSC (Toronto Sports Council). His formal education includes a Bachelor of Commerce from the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Ryerson University.

Molly Killingbeck - Community Member

Molly Killingbeck is a Canadian athlete who competed in two consecutive Summer Olympics for Canada, starting in 1984. At the 1984 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles, she won the silver medal in the 4 x 400 metres with her team mates Charmaine Crooks, Jillian Richardson and Marita Payne. Currently Molly is the National Team Relay Program Coach at University of Toronto Development Centre and the lead coach for selected development programs for National Team Youth and Juniors athletes.
